Atheism and Communism are No Match for the Gospel!

Posted on by John in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Atheism and Communism are No Match for the Gospel!

CindyShadow   I trust this letter finds you and your family well.  We’re amazed and excited by the power of Christ in transforming so many lives around us the past few months!

Thanks to your prayers, Mainland Chinese atheist and communist “Ming” heard the Gospel for the first time ever when I started reaching out to her about 14 months ago.  Amazingly, she is now “committed” to coming regularly to my Bible study and church, so please pray for “Mings’s” salvation.   Another international scholar “Ping”, who was recently born again, expressed her deep gratitude in a note.  This heart which rightly goes to you as well:

“Thank you for being so nice to us.  I also appreciate the lecture you give us!  It is so touching …  I am happy to be a member of God’s family.  Although  I still have a lot of questions towards the Bible, even did not know God very well, but I will keep praying and reading the Bible.”

25+ International students have been born again!

Posted on by John in Uncategorized | Comments Off on 25+ International students have been born again!

KidsWNewBeliever   Greetings to you!  I trust this letter finds you and your family very well. John and I are very thankful for your continual support and prayers as John enters the market place and I continue in the full-time ministry with Every Nation Ministries

We began our new semester with an iMIX (International Ministry and Interest Xchange) party on “Love in Any Language”.   We had a well attended crowd represented from China, Iran, Africa, Singapore, Peru, Taiwan, etc.   A few of us had the privilege to share our stories on how we come to experience the love of God.

Many were moved by the testimonies and kindness the ‘hosts’ extended to them, particularly several young girls from Iran.   We are very encouraged and excited by many of the internationals’ interests for further bible discussions and church attendance.

One such life is Yue Wu from China.  Yue accompanied her husband Chun Xioa Li to UNC as he pursues his PhD in Economics.  Yue, in her own right, has a Masters in Southeast Asian Studies, but now working on starting a masters in lingustics.  We met at one of the outreach parties of which she expressed her interest in studying the Bible.

Although she was “baptized” in a three-self church (government church in China), she didn’t have a grasp of the Gospel and what it meant to be born again.  After our second meeting,Yue gave her heart to Jesus and is now learning the foundations of what it means to be the follower of Christ.  Now her husband has expressed his interest in joining us in our Bible study!  We are very excited and expecting for more to join us in the near future!

I am very privileged to be part of iMIX since its early stage of launching when we came back from the mission field.  Since our launch, through five iMIX parties, seven weekly Bible study outreaches in our home and on campuses, some hundreds and hundreds of internationals have been touched with the love of God and over 25 have received Christ!   What an AMAZING God we serve!

On the home front, Hannah, John, Christian and Daniel (respectively 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd grade) are enjoying and thriving in their current school.  Hannah loves being in chorus, Girl Scouts and serving in the children church.  The boys still enjoy Tae Kwon Do and had just finished their indoor soccer season and looking forward to joining the spring outdoor soccer team. For John and I we continue to work hard to balance life of  full time ministry for me and full time work for John.

We are so thankful that His amazing grace flowing through you is taking our little bit of love, time, energy, and multiplying it into a movement that we pray will last beyond our lives!

With Sincere Gratitude,

Cindy Simpson

Cindy_and_Yu2   Praise the Lord, recently another student Shu from Beijing, China has received Jesus as her Lord and Savoiur.  We continue to see an incredible openness of Chinese to the Gospel.  What helps us reachthese students is that they are completely fluent in English.  What an opportunity we have!

Wishing You a Blessed and Prosperous New Year!

TGGuys

Happy new year to you!  We hope you are preparing for the greatest year of your life in 2013.  As we look back on 2012 it was a year filled with many challenges and transition for our family, but the the Lord has been faithful throughout it all.

Hundreds of students have heard the gospel, and at last count over 25 international students come to faith in Jesus!  Thank you so much for making this possible.

After 14 years of serving full-time with Every Nation Ministries, I have now stepped into a new sales position for a season.   To provide for my family, it was a necessary step to take.  But the Lord has given me great favor at work and many opportunities to share the gospel with my coworkers.  Literally, during the interview process the general manager asked me to “sell him Jesus.”

I then proceeded to share the gospel without reservation.  Upon finishing, he seemed truly convicted.  He then said “in 20 years of hiring, I have never offered anyone a job on the spot. But I’d like to offer you a job.”  Praise the Lord!

Moving forward in 2013, Cindy continues to be fully engaged reaching students and international students at UNC, Duke and NC State.  Her days are spent on campus reaching, discipling and counseling to women.  Both in English and in Mandarin!  She is also spending many hours each week counselling young women through many deep issues of their lives.

We continue to seek the Lord on when and how we will get to Seattle as well.   Our lives are and have always been placed in his hands.  We still sense a calling to this city, but we are holding this with open hands before the Lord.  We will update you on this as more clarity comes.

Thank you so much for standing with us and helping us reach the world with the Gospel.  Together, I believe our greatest and most fruitful years lay ahead.  Wishing you a blessed and prosperous new year.

With Sincere Gratitude,

John and Cindy

More Chinese Students Finding Faith in Jesus!

Posted on by John in Uncategorized | Comments Off on More Chinese Students Finding Faith in Jesus!

What an exciting start to the school year at UNC, Duke and NC State.  God is answering our prayer for favor and open doors with international students and visiting scholars.

We continue see huge numbers of international students studying in the area.  There are now over 7,000+ international students from 158 nations are studying in the Triangle today.  What an amazing opportunity we have!  They’re students today, but history reveals that “tomorrow” they will be leaders of their nation.

But sadly, many of these international students live incredibly isolated lives while in the US.  But through the combined efforts of campus ministries, local churches and partners like you, we are reaching hundreds of these students with the love of God and the Gospel.

Thanks for Sending Us to Heal Broken Hearts

Posted on by John in Uncategorized | Comments Off on Thanks for Sending Us to Heal Broken Hearts

It has been a while since I (Cindy) last wrote to you.  I hope in the future, you will hear from me more often.

I am very thankful for this season where the kids are in a great school and I get to take a “breather” from years of home schooling abroad with minimal support group, managing daily household demands as well as doing ministry.

However, I do look forward to rolling up our sleeves and putting our plows in the ground of Seattle as soon as we finish building our team of financial and prayer partners.

2012 Campus Harvest in Durham, NC

Posted on by John in Uncategorized | Comments Off on 2012 Campus Harvest in Durham, NC

Last month at our Campus Harvest conference, the presence of God came in a glorious wayas 1700+ students sang “Holy, holy, holy!”  Hundreds of students fell to their knees repenting, weeping and crying out to God.  You could literally feel the tangible weight of the glory of God fill the room!  This was, without question the highlight of Campus Harvest, which was hosted by our church and Every Nation staff here in Raleigh-Durham.

Students from across the US and abroad came for a life changing weekend of worship, impartation and equipping for ministry on their university campuses.  By the end of Campus Harvest, 150+ were “born again”, 200+ responded to a call to full time ministry, hundreds were filled with the Holy Spirit and 70+ were baptized.  It was a remarkably fruitful weekend!
