Praise God for the amazing harvest we are seeing here in North Carolina! So many students and professors from so many nations are hearing the Gospel for the FIRST time and are receiving it with joy! Lives from all over the earth are being transformed on every campus here in the Triangle! Enjoy the pictures and stories below and rejoice with us. This harvest is only made possible because our labor TOGETHER!
Our ministry to internationals called iMix (International Ministry and Interest Exchange) had the privilege of mobilizing 16 American families to host 60+ international students for Easter! Also, several parties were hosted that saw nearly 30 students come as well! Beside sharing great food and fellowship, thetrue meaning of Easter and the story of Jesus was shared with all. Above is a picture of our family room filled with Chinese, Hong Kong and Malaysian students during an Easter eve event we hosted.
Then on Easter Sunday, we hosted a Muslim family from Jordan! Aziz, accompanied by his wife Aisheh and their son Hafi, is here working on his Phd. in Linguistics at UNC. We had an incredible night of fellowship that focused on the Easter story.
God really connected our hearts and they have already invited us to their home for a meal. Aziz will be returning to teach at a university in Jordan at the end of the year and has requested we visit his home and university in Jordan. Praise God for open doors! Let’s walk through these together.
Two days after hosting them, Aisheh invited me to their home in Chapel Hill and I had candid conversations with Aisheh. She talked about her God and the Quran, and therefore, gave me the liberty to openly share about Jesus and the Bible. What an open opportunity to building relationship and share Christ! Please pray for more open doors and open hearts!
Praise God, last week we saw 5 Chinese students who are new believers baptized! There is such a wonderful openness of these students to the Gospel. One of those students is Jill (above center), who made Jesus her Lord and Saviour on Good Friday. Both the day of her baptism and Good Friday will be days she will never forget.
Jill and her boyfriend Edison are incredibly eager to meet to study the Bible before they move to San Francisco to work in May. Edison and Jill have a huge future ahead of them in the Kingdom and in their careers. For Edison, Google, Apple, and Microsoft competed for his post UNC services. Google won!
Here is a picture of Audrey from Taiwan. On Easter Sunday, Audrey made the decision to make her faith public by being “spontaneously” baptized. When the Holy Spirit calls, you just have to obey!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for helping touch these lives. There are endless students from around the world right at our doorstep waiting to experience God’s love for them. And TOGETHER, we are bringing that love to them.
Thank you again for standing with John and I. We greatly appreciate you!
