Beachside Baptism in the Shadow of the Mosque

Happy resurrection day to you!  We hope you had an awesome weekend celebrating the greatest news of all time; Jesus has risen from the grave.  Jesus resurrection gives us great confidence to boldly proclaim the message of the cross in a land filled with Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus who devoutly worship their gods and gurus who are now buried in the ground.

As you may know, I just returned from a 3 week trip to Manila and the US.  It was long journey, but was made worth it by the time I spent with friends and family.  After 18 months abroad, it was a great encouragement to see everyone.

Another highlight of the trip was seeing friends who partner with our work in Malaysia.  Cindy and I can’t thank you enough for standing with us.  It would be great to spend days fellowshipping with each of you, but Cindy and the kids were back home “holding the fort” eagerly awaiting my return.

Upon returning, we celebrated one of greatest services to date; about 150 people, including many guests joined us for our Easter service.  The presentation of the Gospel was clear and many we’re powerfully touched.  Knowing that many heard the message of Jesus for the very first time brings us real joy.

Another great joy this month was the beach side baptism of 7 new Christ followers in the shadow of one of Malaysia’s most famous mosques.  One of those new Christ followers was Kelly Teoh; the sister of Sharon Teoh who we recently baptized also.  We love seeing “entire households” come to faith in Christ, and we’re now “targeting” the rest of their family.

On another note, we really covet your prayers at this time.  Thanks so much for your continued prayer for our family.  There’s not enough space is this letter to share all the trials that come with an international move, but we ask that you pray the Lord would guide and provide for our family.

And whatever trials you may be facing in life; be it sickness, family, finances, relationships or work, Cindy and I want to stand with you in prayer.  We would love to hear from you!  Many blessings to you and your family!
